Love, Joy, Peace...
About Us
There is nothing particularly special about us. We are a group of ordinary people joined together in community through the gospel of Jesus Christ to worship our extraordinary God and invite others to join us.
Our Mission
We aim to play a small part in fulfilling the work Jesus Christ gave his global church: to make disciples of all the peoples of the earth (Matthew 28:19–20).
We long for Heartland to be a church where God uses the good news of Jesus Christ not only to save us from sin but also to shape us into a people that reflect him to the world around us. We want to not only believe the gospel but to live out the gospel with one another and the people all around us—to declare the good news of Jesus and to display its transforming power in our own lives.
How does this happen? The Spirit of God uses the Word of God to do the work of God in and through the people of God.
Our Vision
Reaching Up: Loving God (Matthew 22:37–38; Mark 12:30; Luke 10:27)
  • Turning from sin and treasuring Christ (Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30; Romans 10:9–10; John 14:15; Matthew 24:12–13)
  • Communing with God (John 15:1–11; 17:3, Romans 10:17; Matthew 4:4; 6:5–13; Colossians 4:2)
Reaching In: Loving the Local Church (John 13:34–35; Romans 12:10; 1 Peter 1:22; 1 John 4:11–12)
  • Committing to gathering regularly to worship God together (Acts 20:7; Hebrews 10:24–25)
  • Growing together in godliness (1 Timothy 4:7–8; Ephesians 4:20–24; 1 Peter 1:15–16)
  • Practicing meaningful church membership (1 Corinthians 12:12–26; Matthew 18:15–20; Hebrews 13:7, 17)
Reaching Out: Loving Our Neighbors (Matthew 22:39; Mark 12:31; Luke 10:27)
  • Praying for the lost (Romans 10:1; Matthew 5:44; Colossians 4:3)
  • Proclaiming the gospel in word and deed (Romans 10:14–17; Galatians 2:11–14; 1 Peter 3:1–2)
  • Supporting church planting, especially in unreached people groups (Matthew 28:19–20; Luke 24:46–47; Acts 10:34–35)
